Levon Helm -- R.I.P.
With each passing year, time seems to take an increasingly heavy toll on our pop culture heroes. Luminaries in the realms of Music, TV and Film are slipping off the mortal coil at an alarming rate. Given my background in the entertainment field, when one of these individuals passes, I am often asked for my thoughts on the person-- especially in the instances where I had known or worked with him or her. In the case of Levon Helm, drummer for the classic rock ensemble, The Band, I did not know him personally. But his spirit and talent moved me to write this remembrance on the occasion of his death.
