Traditional experiments measure what happens; molecular modeling can reduce guesswork, guide physical experiments and open questions that would otherwise be too dangerous, expensive or slow to test. The future of nanoengineering will be built by people who can model, simulate and understand the nanoscale world well enough to engineer it.
